⭐ Putting Students First ⭐
Alisha Khan, elected in 2022, serves as the Board’s youngest member. She chairs the Policy Committee and also serves on the Finance, Education, and SB Stakeholder Committees. She brings a fresh, student-centered perspective and a deep commitment to the community, championing mental-health resources, cultural inclusion, and decision-making that puts students first.
A 2019 graduate of South Brunswick High School and a Rutgers University alumna in Cognitive Science and Psychology, Alisha understands the unique challenges our students, parents, and educators face. She advocates for equity on the South Brunswick Commission on Women, promoted cultural inclusion and served as treasurer for South Asian Community Outreach (SACO), and previously served on the South Brunswick Planning Board, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making. Through these roles, she has built strong connections across our diverse community and a track record of collaborative leadership.
Now, Alisha is running for re-election to continue building a district where all students feel supported, inspired, and ready to succeed. With your support, she will keep fighting for transparency, equity, and the future of South Brunswick schools.

Remembering Sam Khan
Honoring His Legacy
Sam Khan dedicated his life to serving and uplifting the community. Through the South Asian Community Outreach (SACO), he raised funds and donated gifts to under-resourced schools, provided free food to families during Ramadan, and organized an annual holiday charity gala. He organized interfaith events, brought the first Eid celebration to Edison, and founded the Pakistan Day Parade to celebrate culture and unity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he launched MAK Health Services, providing free testing to those in need. Sam also worked to promote civic engagement among South Asians, inspiring active participation in local government and community affairs. His leadership, vision, and dedication left a lasting impact that continues to guide and inspire future generations. As a tireless advocate, Sam Khan championed service, unity, and opportunity for all. His vision and commitment to public service live on through his daughters, Alisha and Mashel Khan, who carry forward his legacy of community leadership. Guided by the values he instilled, Alisha is dedicated to ensuring that every decision on the Board of Education reflects his spirit of integrity, compassion, and commitment to providing students with the resources and support they need to succeed.
